Then there are touchy matters with immensely more at stake than sawing into your own sofa:  For example, conundrums like averting planetary disasters, or mending societal fractures.  Don't expect 1-2-3 DIY handbooks on such challenges coming any soon...

Guilty or not — and aware or not — and wanting or not — we are all sucked into these sorts of problems together.

WHAT CAN ONE DO?

Lots, actually.  But let's leave those options to be tackled in our daily jobs — and in our choices at the voting polls.

This brings us to our leisure activities:  To the prized moments for relaxation and decompressing.  These are often our only opportunities to replace politics and bad news with something calming, uplifting, and humanly universal.  For many, the "me-time" often includes a good book.  Unfortunately, in my case, the supply of satisfying ones has dried up sooner than anticipated.  I couldn't find another workaround than writing a few myself...
