True romantics are not just daters / lovers / fiancés.  

Neither are they passive enjoyers of sublime sceneries, nor mere buyers of heartwarming arts.  

Another gross understatement would be labeling the 21st-century romantics as devotees to the emotional artistic movement known as Romanticism.  Why?  Because even though their spirits may outwardly manifest as "cottagecore" or other mature vintage / retro / classical aesthetic tastes, they surely are far past any narrow-minded anti-industrial diehardism.  

And despite many non-romantics love to believe otherwise, the full-fledged "romantiacs" surely don't represent dreamy dimbos detached from people or rationality.  

Finally, modern romantic ethos must not be mistaken for any form of autism or escapism, either.  

QUITE  THE  OPPOSITE:  

True romantism adherents radiate that positivistic mindset of theirs into the everyday lives of everyone around.  Knowingly or unknowingly, they leave a lasting mark on artisanry, creative inventions, transformative laws, new technologies, or whatever they do or touch.  

It's not about lovely faces or cheerful jumping around.  Even those historically grumpiest and utmostly morose women and men who had pushed the world towards a better future were, in fact, romantists at heart!  No matter how giant or tiny a portion of their blood pump might have been reserved for their special "R" streak:  For that precious and deeply archetypal soul-soothing breed of idealism, which has once engraved a memorable imprint in storytelling, philosophy, music, poetry, and sciences...  

What I never liked is that "in memoriam" undertone surrounding mentions of Romanticism in lexicons and encyclopedias.  There is a difference between falling to RIP versus quietly evolving into finer "reborns".
