Clueless  veterinarians

Two veterinarians have openly dismissed this case straightaway due to a lack of specific expertise.  Two other specialists were willing to examine this jerking / "barking" guy.  They were very nice and highly skilled but not completely sure about the ultimate diagnosis.  I cannot blame them, because it seems that science knows surprisingly little (close to nothing in some cases) about coughing in small rodents (to go deeper into biological research and the ongoing public collection of rare videos, click here...).

Have  you  seen  a  similar  case?

Did your pet or garden friend go thru a similar ordeal?  Could your vet resolve the pathology?  Or can you personally recognize what's going on with this little furball?  Please let me know.  Together, we may be able to put together a guideline for animal lovers on how to recognize different fits in small rodents.  Thus, helping this desert squirrel to get healthy  -  or possibly, helping many tailed fellows over the globe...
