Modern varieties of a traditional parenica steamcheese

Parenica, the unique national cheese of Slovaks, typically weighs about 100 grams (0.1 kg / 0.2 pound / 3 oz).  What a surprise it was to discover a huge chunk the size of a plate on the store shelves, heavier than 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds / 35 oz)!  How will it taste?  Will such a boulder retain its suppleness and the traditional tearing properties?  What taste variants could be bought, where could they be bought, and from which production plant did this rarity come?  We will be happy to share all this information, as well as interesting cheese production details, with our current registered readers as well as with new interested visitors...
