ATTENTION
This file is demanding on halftones and contrasts.  It is therefore encoded in the CMYK printing standard.  Computer screens operate in a completely opposite mode (RGB).  As a result of this mismatch, the postcard may appear in bizarre colors on many electronic devices.  However, the print output will be fine - see the mock image.  Professional software can convert the CMYK spectrum to a three-channel RGB signal.  In this case, you will see normal colors not only on the paper, but also on the display.

FEEDING  GRINDER   #1

HEADLINE:   PICKY EATERS, BEWARE MINCERS?

Children's picky eating has already managed to drive more than one adult into a tight spot - including the most die-hard opponents of scaring children.  After all, who hasn't heard at least one empty threat about funnel-feeding, blendering breakfast into porridge, or hospitals pouring artificial nutrition through a tube.  It was no different in the all-family retro-novel The Mystery of the Rammed Key.  In it, however, Grandma Estela went far beyond verbal warnings and pulled out a grinding wonder with head-clamping straps.  Dr· Barton had to intervene, and the dangerous contraption ended up where it belongs - among museal junk from a time when many goods and medicines were not yet properly tested.

INGROWN  KEY   #1

HEADLINE:   PICKY EATERS, BEWARE MINCERS?

The story of the enigmatological family crime-novel The Mystery of the Rammed Key was loosely inspired by several true events.  Even a similar tree-embedded key was indeed found in a real old tree.  This keepsake picture was created for all devourers of the shocking cases from 5 Misty Road - and the even more surprising explanations behind the unheard-of happenings.

BLOWER   #1

HEADLINE:   FEELING UNSURPRISABLE?  ●  THEN, WHAT'S THIS??

In ancient houses we sometimes come across contraptions that leave us clueless.  This is no different in Dr· Barton's old-town apartment.  What is that box that opens spontaneously from the cracked wall in his toilet room?  Readers of the heartwarming mystery thriller The Mystery of the Rammed Key already understand.  If you know someone bored who has supposedly figured out everything about life and nothing surprises them anymore, send them this enigmatic postcard.  Even if they happen to guess the answer, reading the book about the tree-borne key will surely shake them out of their false notions about their own lifelong experiencedness and superiority.

POCKET  LOUPE   #1

HEADLINE:   ONE TRACE FINDS ANOTHER TRACE, EVEN IF IT AGES TAKES  ●  S· BARTON

Patience definitely pays off in the work of any mystery investigator.  This reconfirms the indefatigable enigmatologist Dr· Sinister Barton, too.  You may recall the hopelessly unsolvable tangle of incomprehensible discoveries in The Mystery of the Rammed Key:  The Doctor, with his handy lens in a tear-shaped leather protector, examined the indecipherable inscription on the door of a freshly unwalled secret chamber.  But his aides were filled with doubt.  Let the Doctor's travel magnifying glass remind us that one seemingly unsolvable clue may eventually lead to another - even though months, years, centuries, and often hard-to-bridge distances may separate us from the final unraveling.

UNEARTHED  CHEST   #1

HEADLINE:   LOCKABILITY MEANS FREEDOM

In every era, there have been people who are best kept under lock and key - or from whom we better prefer to flee to the safety of a locked door.  It's the same with things and technology.  Back in the days, there were hidden caves, buried treasures, or secret partitions in furniture.  Today, every major organization has its own impregnable vault, or at least uses some sort of strongbox service.  But what on Earth is hidden under the ironwork reinforcing the three-lock antique box in The Case of the Forgotten Chest?  Would it be prudent to lift the lid of the ancient metal-plated chest that causes physically observable anomalies in its surroundings?  Is there a rare treasure inside?  Or is it protecting something that should remain locked away forever?  Be that as it may, this postcard reminds us that we must carefully guard our valuables and privacy.

BRUNO'S  SPECIAL  BUTTERFLY   #2

HEADLINE:   LOYAL BUTTERFLY

Is it possible to tame and train a butterfly?  Dr· Barton scientifically doubts it.  However, the adults eventually discover that Bruno's small white from the story Expedition to Cursed Forest is an extraordinary creature.  What will more detailed research reveal?  Until we find out, the postcard will at least remind us of a basic fact:  That even the most ordinary flower-sucker has a zest and will to live, coupled with no small desire for freedom.  After reading the forestal stories, this little drawing will remind us of a much deeper connection...

BRUNO'S  SPECIAL  BUTTERFLY   #3

HEADLINE:   CORDIAL GREETINGS FROM FANTASY

You take a nap and dream of something wonderful.  You would like to share your dream experience with others, but you don't have the vocabulary.  Do you know the feeling?  Bruno, the boy in the story Expedition to Cursed Forest, was dreaming too.  But Dr· Barton is justifiably concerned about the child's depiction of his sleeping experiences:  Did the hikers eat some hallucinogenic forest berries?  Or were they drugged by that unknown creature in the spacesuit-like coverall they spotted in the night fog near their hut?  In any case, entering the woods unleashed a stirring and dramatic grand story.  Unlike the dreamers of intangible dreams, readers of this forest drama have a tangible memento of their book experience in the form of a beautiful postcard.
